The 2nd Annual ASEAN Solar + Energy Storage Congress & Expo 2017 was held on November 14^th – 15^th in Manila, Philippines. It is the largest congress focusing on solar and energy storage market in ASEAN (The Association of Southeast Asian Nations).

Over 70 representatives from governments, utilities, independent energy producers, energy storage products manufacturers, consulting companies, associate as well as other related sectors participated to discuss applications, opportunities and challenges for solar and energy storage development in ASEAN market.

Thomas Lapham, CEO of Asia Clean Capital, was invited to share his insights on clean energy investment at the panel discussion themed Financing and Investing in Clean Energy Projects in ASEAN. Asia Clean Capital has successfully invested, built and maintained many clean energy projects for world-renowned companies, including Danone, Nestle, Coca-Cola, Volkswagen, etc.

Investors are starting to realize the potential of combining solar with energy storage, especially in ASEAN countries, such as Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia. Mr. Lapham said “ACC’s customer base includes many of the world’s greatest multinational corporations. They have facilities across the ASEAN region, so expansion with them is a logical next step for us.”
