Asia Clean Capital and Canadian Solar to Co-Develop 200 MW Solar Pipeline
24 June 2016Beijing, PRC—June 24th, 2016—Asia Clean Capital (“ACC”) today announced a cooperation agreement with a subsidiary of Canadian-Solar Inc., (NASDAQ:CSIQ) to co-develop an identified solar pipeline of over 200 megawatts in Mainland China. Under the terms of the Agreement ACC will provide construction and financing for the solar systems and Canadian Solar will provide technical support, engineering, design, equipment, business consultation and other services for associated rooftops.
The pipeline leverages the success both companies, particularly Canadian Solar’s track record of over 14 gigawatts of installed solar PV systems and a global solar PV project reserve of 10.3GW. The project sources from this pool of rooftops are Fortune 500 foreign-funded companies’ plants and production facilities suitable for PV power generation, well as other target projects as accepted by both parties.
Over its lifetime it is estimated that the pipeline of solar projects will result in the reduction of 6-million tons of C02, or the equivalent of 2.5-billion liters of gasoline.
